Germany Skilled Worker Permit vs Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
Germany's Skilled Worker Permit and Opportunity Card are sequential steps on the same ladder. The Skilled Worker Permit (§§18a/18b AufenthG) requires a recognised qualification and a concrete employer offer; the Opportunity Card (§20a AufenthG) is the job-search precursor that lets qualified workers enter Germany without an offer and search in person. Many Chancenkarte holders transition to the Skilled Worker Permit once they secure qualifying employment.
