concept

Definition

A sponsor licence is an authorisation issued by an immigration authority to an employer or organisation that wants to sponsor non-citizens under a regulated migration route. Holding a licence usually means the sponsor has compliance duties such as recordkeeping, reporting job changes, and confirming that the job and pay meet route rules. In some countries the sponsor licence is central to the route, while in others the employer still supports the case but does not need a separate licensing status.
