A startup visa is a residence and work permit that allows non-EU entrepreneurs to relocate to a European country to establish or scale an innovative business. Requirements typically include a credible business plan, a minimum level of funding or self-sufficiency, and endorsement from an accredited incubator, investor, or government body. Several EU member states offer dedicated startup visa programmes, including France (French Tech Visa), Germany (Selbständige Tätigkeit route), Spain (Startup Act visa), and Portugal (D2 Entrepreneur Visa).
