Definition
A digital nomad permit (also called a remote work visa) allows non-EU nationals who work remotely for clients or employers outside the host country to legally reside there for an extended period, typically one to two years with renewal options. Applicants must usually demonstrate stable remote income above a minimum threshold, hold health insurance, and provide proof of accommodation. Countries offering dedicated programmes include Portugal (D8 Passive Income and Remote Worker Visa), Spain (Digital Nomad Visa), Greece, Croatia, and Germany.
